Palate Well balanced and persistent. Good structure with an aftertaste marked by red berries, plums and cherry. Elegant and savory.
Food Pairing Perfect for important dishes, roasted or grilled red meats, game, venison, stewed wild boar. Excellent with mature cheeses.

Fattoria dei Barbi
One of the most important wine regions in Italy, Tuscany is home to the Fattoria dei Barbi family estate. Blending tradition and innovation for seven centuries, the Colombini family is one of the most influential of the region and have played an integral part in writing the history of Brunello dating back to 1892. The estate utilises a patented system of vinification, based on the Tuscan tradition of “May Wines”. A wine which was born from the extensive soaking of skinned Sangiovese grapes that rest for 3 months with their pomace.
Brunello di Montalcino
Brunello di Montalcino is a Sangiovese Italian wine produced in the vineyards surrounding the town of Montalcino in the Tuscany wine region.
The Sangiovese grape is the most widely planted grape in the Montalcino region and is the only permitted grape in the Brunello di Montalcino DOCG. The particular clones of Sangiovese are unique to the Montalcino region and have developed in adaption to that area's specific terroir.
