Petaluma
Petaluma was founded in 1976 and is built upon the 3 regions of Adelaide Hills, Clare Valley and Coonawarra in South Australia. They make ultra-premium wines by carefully selecting the best sites within a particular region suited to a chosen variety. The Senior Winemaker, Andrew Hardy, has been at Petaluma since 2004 and is a highly respected Australian winemaker.

In Petaluma's first releases, they flaunted the benefits of cold clarifying juice and non-oxidative handling. Petaluma also established the Project Co. series of wines to allow their winemakers to trial and test different wine styles. With intuitive handling from the first hand pick in the vineyard, the Petaluma team follow strict winemaking standards while responding to what the vintage offers up.
Clare Valley
Situated in the Mid North of South Australia, approximately 120 km north of Adelaide is one of Australia's oldest wine regions the Clare Valley. The area is broken up into three sub-regions, the Polish Hill River region to the east, the Central Clare Valley, and the Skillogalee Valley to the west.

Often associated with some of Australia's finest Riesling the cool climate and differing terroirs have paved the way for exciting and diverse wines over a plethora of varietals resulting in wines of pure expression and great length. Home to some of Australia's most iconic wineries - cult producers like Wendouree, to Australian icons such as Kilikanoon and boutique producers like Atlas, the Clare Valley is definitely an area to keep an eye on for exciting and ever evolving wines.

Huon Hooke
An outstanding vintage of this wine. Lavender and jasmine aromas; superbly rich, dry, very long and seamless on the palate. Tremendous fruit weight and latent power. It should age magnificently.

Stalwart of the riesling fridge in just about any bottle shop, from Walgett to the sea. A metronome that seems to have lost time in the last few releases.

It’s an easy to drink, crisp edged, tangy young wine. Scents of lavender, lime juice, but also something slightly toasty, vaguely steely, hessian. Livelier in the palate, juicy with sweet-sour limey flavours, good piercing length, finishes with a talc-like pucker. It’s not scintillating, but it is easy to consume, and shows off a pretty good vibe for riesling.
